On September 24, Fair Chance Board members Anthony Rodell, Victor Carroway, Amber English Coleman & Marcus Coleman hosted an intimate gathering that perfectly embodied our mission: bringing together passionate individuals to support transformative community work.
Approximately 40 friends and supporters of Fair Chance gathered for an evening of fine wine, artisan cheeses, and meaningful conversation. The highlight of the evening was hearing from Marcus Wilson, Executive Director of The Village Network and recent graduate of Fair Chance’s Pathways Partnership program.
Marcus shared his powerful journey as a nonprofit leader dedicated to ensuring the success of young men and boys in Washington, DC. His insights into the challenges and triumphs of community-based work resonated deeply with attendees, illustrating exactly why Fair Chance’s support of organizations like The Village Network matters so profoundly.
As a Pathways Partnership graduate, Marcus demonstrated the tangible impact of Fair Chance’s capacity-building programs. His story brought to life how strengthening nonprofit leaders creates ripple effects throughout underserved neighborhoods, touching the lives of countless children and families.
The intimate setting allowed for genuine dialogue and connection, with guests engaging in thoughtful conversations about community impact, nonprofit sustainability, and the vital work being done across DC. The evening served as a beautiful reminder that meaningful change happens when committed individuals come together with shared purpose.
Events like Purposeful Pours showcase the heart of Fair Chance’s work: building a community of supporters who believe in strengthening organizations that serve children and families in underserved neighborhoods. We’re grateful to Marcus Coleman and Victor Carraway for their hospitality, to Marcus Wilson for sharing his inspiring story, and to all who attended for their continued support.
Together, we’re not just raising glasses—we’re raising up communities.
