Message from the CEO
June 2021

In this issue, we are excited to present the 2020 data from our programs in Washington, DC and Prince George’s County, MD. Last month, we shared our alumni survey data and this month we are sharing our pre- and post-assessment data for 2020 partners. The results you see below are a testament to the commitment these leaders made to the capacity building process, as well as the expertise and dedication of our staff during the pandemic.

In 2020, Fair Chance extended the length of our Praxis and Pathways Partnerships as a result of the specific challenges created by COVID-19. Our Executive Director Learning Communities became spaces for nonprofits to share and learn about HR best-practices to plan for a reduction of services, applying for PPP loans and other relief funding, tips on how to do virtual fundraising, and leading in a time of protest. Our team is committed to the success of our partners, no matter what challenges they face.

In addition to viewing the data, I invite you click the links below to listen to the stories of our Executive Directors who graduated in 2020. These video testimonies add context to the numbers as well as the work we do in key competencies, and provide a stronger picture of the tremendous impact of Fair Chance.

In Service,

Gretchen Van der Veer, PhD
