Washington, D.C., Thursday, September 19, 2024- Fair Chance is thrilled to announce that Boston Consulting Group (BCG) will be honored as this year’s Community Champion Award Recipient at the 2024 Fair Chance Butterfly Bash. This prestigious event will take place on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
The annual Community Champion Award is presented to an organization, individual, or family, in the DC area who represents “exemplary leadership and outstanding service toward building a world where every child succeeds. Fair Chance is honored to highlight BCG’s ongoing commitment to “the BCG Fellows Program”- where teams of BCG Associates provide pro bono consulting to DC area nonprofit organizations identified by Fair Chance throughout the calendar year. Additionally, BCG Associates devote time each week to support board, talent, and strategy development leading to growth and impact for the nonprofit and the communities they serve. In line with Fair Chance’s mission, this program also aligns with BCG’s local DC Impact Initiative committed to local/small community-based organizations focused on education, food security, homelessness, and economic development. Since 2015, dozens of BCG Associates have made a difference in building a stronger nonprofit ecosystem across the DC area.
We also want to recognize the invaluable contribution of our former board chair, Ted Kubit, whose efforts were instrumental in fostering this impactful partnership between Fair Chance and BCG.
Dr. Gretchen Van der Veer, Executive Director of Fair Chance, commented, “By celebrating the collaborative efforts and impacts BCG has made – and will continue to make – we aim to inspire others at the Butterfly Bash and beyond to find their own ways to work for social impact and meaningful changes in our city and nation.”
The 2024 Butterfly Bash promises to be a festive affair, welcoming approximately 350 guests, including Fair Chance Partners, individual supporters, corporate and family sponsors, and institutional funders. Attendees will enjoy a festive evening of community, connections and making a difference with a special program at the VIP reception recognizing our Fair Chance partners and honoring BCG.
Since 2002, Fair Chance has engaged over 200 DC and Prince George’s County community-based nonprofits, collectively reaching more than 150,000 children, youth, and families experiencing poverty. Fair Chance’s impact is evident: partner nonprofits typically double both the number of participants served and their budget sizes within five years of partnership.
We invite you to join us on October 25th to celebrate BCG’s commitment to social impact and to support Fair Chance’s mission of transforming lives and communities.
