  • Description: By the end of this workshop, participants will develop familiarity with key financial management terms and definitions, and identify and implement best practices in financial management related to budgeting, accounting, internal controls and accountability, operations and reporting and auditing. Logically Speaking: Supporting Effective Programming through Logic Model Development

  • By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to describe what a logic model is and how it can be useful to daily program operations; be able to identify the key components of a logic model, including outputs and outcomes; and be able to define and sequence short-, intermediate, and long-term outcomes. Participants will also examine the differences between outputs and outcomes, and understand customer/participant satisfaction and how it differs from outputs or outcomes.

Getting To Yes: The Art & Science Of Effective Grant Writing

  • By the end of this workshop, participants will learn key grant writing terms, how to search for grant opportunities, and how to assess alignment of grant opportunities and their organization’s mission, needs and timing. Participants will also be able to identify the key components of grant proposals and effective ways to address these components when writing a proposal, and they will learn tips and tools for submitting, monitoring and reporting progress of grants.

Participants will also have the opportunity to identify governance practices to prioritize implementing over the next year for their own organizations.

Participants will understand how to use the logic model, mission and vision, milestones and achievements of their organization in crafting key messages; and how to identify target audiences and customize messages for various audiences.

    • Learn the components of an effective fundraising plan
    • Identify key roles that board members can plan in fundraising and know how to engage them
    • Develop a case for support
    • Have an opportunity to share with each other strategies that are working within their own organizations
